Egglo at MOMcon 2013: Success!

MOMcon2013!

What an excellent experience.  It was great to share Egglo Eggs with all the wonderful moms that I met.  Truthfully I did not sell as much product as I was hoping, but I did get to meet many moms who all love the Lord and THAT was truly awesome.  It was also a great opportunity to share the freshly launched Egglo Eggs website.  WHICH if you have not visited please take a peek!  You can see it here.

By far the most fun and exciting part of the MOMcan2013 was raffling off the Egg-cellent Easter Adventure Basket!  Meet the lucky winner, Leatrice!  She was wonderful and I can’t wait to share with you her experiences with the Egg-cellent Easter Adventure!

Congratulations, Leatrice!

The number one thing that moms from all over were interested in was the Glow-in-the-Dark Scavenger Hunt using the Egglo Eggs!  Because it is so much fun!  Because of the overwhelming amount of requests you will find listed here an example of how to create and implement a scavenger hunt in your house.  All you need now are the glow in the dark Eggs which you can get here.  Ready?  Set.  GLOW!

This is a sample scavenger hunt that can be done in your home with all the lights turned out. Give the kids flashlights just for reading the clues, but let them find their way around in the dark. Go slow and be careful in the dark. Print this out and cut into strips the section of paper with the verses/clues. You can adjust the clues and look up verses to suit your home. Or use it for your own ideas.

Wrap the strips around a pencil so they curl like a scroll. Put the strips in the eggs and hide the eggs in sequence. The kids will go from one egg to another guessing where the next egg is based on the clue. The bolded word in the verse is the clue.   These are suggestions of where to hide the egg in your home.  There are 12 eggs and clues for the kids to find.

To start give kids the verse listed below, Psalm 119:105 which leads them to the Bible. You can place the first egg in your Bible in Psalms for the kids to find.  From there they will follow the clues of the hunt until they come to the final egg.  During Easter week we have a cross placed on our lawn which is where I concluded the scavenger hunt along with an extra treat; fishing poles! I placed the fishing poles next to the cross so that when we opened the eggs and read the verse, “Follow me and I will make you fisher’s of men (Mark 1:17) they understood the significance of being fishers of men by being the light of Jesus in the dark to all people around them.   Standing next to the cross after we read the verse I prompted my kids to remember the scene in the Egg-cellent Easter Adventure storybook where the characters discover that Jesus is the greatest treasure of all.

The hunt for the greatest treasure of all begins here:

Your Word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path (Psalm 119:105)

1.    “The voice of the Lord flashes forth flames of fire.” Psalms 29:7” (In the fireplace)

2.    “Jesus said, “Whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will be rewarded.” Mark 9:41 (In the kitchen cabinet with the cups)

3.    “Jesus said, “Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”     John 4:14.  (Next to the water dispenser)

4.    “And out of the ground the LORD made spring up every tree that is pleasant to see and good for food. The tree of life was in the middle of the garden and the tree of knowledge of good     and evil.” Genesis 2:9.  (In the garden)

5.    “The LORD lives and blessed be my rock, and exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation.” 2 Samuel 22:47.  (By the rocks in the back yard)

6.    “The LORD provides food for those who fear Him. He remembers His covenant forever.” Psalm 111:5.  (In the refrigerator)

7.    “He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water.” Psalm 107:35.  (In the bathtub)

8.    “Jesus said, “And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the flowers of the field and how they grow. Do they toil or spin? Yet even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like     one of these. But if God so clothes grass of the field which today is alive and tomorrow withers, will He not much more clothe you.”  Matthew 6:28-30.  (In one of their dresser drawers or     the laundry basket)

9.    “And Jesus said to them “Do you hide a lamp under a basket, or under a bed or do you put it on a stand? For nothing is hidden that will not be made known, nothing is secret but will     come to light.” Mark 4:21-22.  (Under the bed.)

10.    “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” Proverbs 28.  (Under the stuffed lion on the kid’s bed – adjust for your own toys)

11.    “Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24.  (On the way out the cross on the front lawn, but not so close to the cross that they would see the fishing poles.)

12.    “And Jesus said to them “Follow me and I will make you fisher’s of men.” Mark 1:17.  (This is when I helped the kids to remember the scene in the Egg-cellent Easter Adventure book     with garden, the animals, the treasure chest and the cross. I asked them what is the greatest treasure of all and where do we find it. They were able to guess- at the foot of the cross.)
