Thanksgiving Craft: Thankful for Jesus
Thanksgiving is a Time for Reflecting on our Many Blessings
We’re thankful for our families, our health, our homes, and many things. A grateful attitude is good, but let’s get more specific about praising the Lord from whom all blessings flow. Here is a lovely craft and some encouraging verses to help your children appreciate the beauty of Jesus’ gift to us all.
Before visiting our useful guide below for detailed instructions, check out a few suggestions in getting the best experience for this craft and download the necessary templates.
Before enjoying your Thanksgiving feast with your family, take time this year to help your children think about Jesus and His sacrifice. Start off by giving meaning to the phrase “Giving Thanks” this year by downloading these thoughtful bible verses about gratitude before starting this craft idea.
This “Thankful for Jesus Craft” is a fun Thanksgiving activity you can do with your children, and encourage them to show their gratitude of God’s love through Christ.
Craft Instructions:
The first thing you’ll need to do is Print out 2 copies of this Cross Template. Cardstock works best since it is sturdy. Construction paper is too large for most printers, and regular paper can wilt from the glue.
Next let kids get creative in decorating their cross, and use the quality time to talk about the beauty of God’s creation. This can also be another opportunity to talk more about some of the Thanksgiving Bible Verses as well. Here are a few suggestions:
Get Messy: Use fingerprints to paint the cross. Pour fall colors on a plate and let kids have fun mixing colors.
Tear And Crumple: Are you a closet collector of tissue paper? Here’s a perfect use for it. Tear pieces, crumple them into a ball, and glue them.
Get Outside: Enjoy some fresh air with your kids and Use the opportunity to talk about the beauty of God’s creation.
Glitter It Up: All kids, big and little, love glitter. Use orange, red, and yellow.
The next steps are pretty simple:
- Cut out the crosses on each page.
- Tape a piece of wax paper to the inside of each sheet.
- Glue the leaves over cross opening.
- Glue the two sheets together.
- Hole punch the corners for hanging.
This craft not only helps remind your children about the light of Christ, but it lets them share their gratitude as a meaningful decoration around the Thanksgiving table for everyone to enjoy.
